The simple answer is ‘Just Ask’. You will need a proposer and seconder. If you already know someone who is a Freemason, all you need to do is ask them and they will start the ball rolling.

If you don’t know anyone, use our ‘Contact Us’ page and someone will reply to arrange a social get together and talk you through the process, what’s expected of you and what you expect of us. We will arrange for you to meet some of the other Lodge members on the same basis and invite you and your partner to come along to one of our social events. Assuming you like what you see we will arrange for you to fill in the application form and we will find you a Proposer and Seconder.

There is a formal interview with a few of the senior members of the Lodge just so we can make sure that we’ve answered all the questions you and your partner might have and they will make a recommendation to the Lodge for a ballot to take place. Following a successful ballot you will be informed of the date for you to join and be initiated.

The initiation ceremony is dramatic and some say quite emotional. Everybody in the room has participated in a similar ceremony and all will be very supportive and welcoming.
